According to trade analysts DisplaySearch, Sony has moved to the number one position in LCD TV worldwide following its re-branding to Bravia and its increase in capacity through its joint venture with Samsung. Sony’s unit share jumped from 9% to 15% on 164% growth, with 56% of its output at the larger 32 inch and upwards screen size. This boost has bumped Sharp, which had been number one on both a unit and revenue basis worldwide since the start of the LCD TV market. Demand for LCD continues to exceed expectations, with Europe having the highest LCD TV demand, reaching a 44% share, up from 40%. Interestingly, North America at 26%, is down from 29%.For more go to DisplaySearch
