Panasonic plans Blu-ray launch in Europe this year

March 9th, 2006 · No Comments

Panasonic has joined Samsung and used its press conference at CeBit to confirm a rollout for Europe by the end of 2006. Citing growth of interest in HD screens, and backwards compatibility with DVD as reasons for the launch, the world’s largest CE brand says its player will offer a 1080 progressive output and its unique HDAVI Control, which allows multiple Panasonic components to be operated via a single HDMI link. No prices have been announced. The brand will also introduce a range of blank media for use in PC BD drives.
