March 9th, 2006 · No Comments

Samsung says it will launch its debut player, the BD P1000, in Europe during the Autumn of 2006, priced at 1000 Euros. The player will offer full 1080p output via HDMI for the best available resolution and up-conversion capabilities for improving the picture of standard DVDs. “Samsung’s Blu-ray player will be the first available to consumers, and we will continue to innovate with our introduction of a Blu-ray recorder later this year,” said President Geesung Choi of Samsung’s Digital Media Business, speaking today at the CeBit exhibition in Hannover Germany. “Being first to market with new technology such as Blu-ray, ensures Samsungâ’s leadership in driving the next generation optical format.”
