Bang & Olufsen has produced a stereo soundbar speaker system styled to partner its flatscreen TVs. The BeoLab 7-1 and BeoLab 7-2 are a cosmetic match for its BeoVision 7 TVs and the BeoVision 4 plasma monitors. The 7-1, which began life as a centre channel design, consists of two three-way active speakers each with a 2cm treble unit, a 7.5cm mid range driver and a 10cm bass driver. The six loudspeaker units are each powered by a 125 watt digital amplifier. It’s designed to sit under a 32 inch screen. If your display is larger, then B&O suggests the wider BeoLab 7-2.
“At Bang & Olufsen, we have always said that sound is half the picture, meaning that for us, sound and picture are inseparable aspects of the television or film experience,” proclaims Villy Hansen, the brand’s Product Manager. The BeoLab 7’s cabinet is cast in a single piece of aluminum and coated in the resilient black soft-touch lacquer. The front panel is available in four colours (black, dark grey, red and blue), in addition to regulation metal.
