The demise of the CRT TV is happening at an unprecedented rate. Even the world’s largest brands seem to have been caught out by both the appetite of the consumer for slick looking thinscreens and the rapid price erosion which is fuelling the take-up. According to the latest GFK market research data, just over 2 million flat TVs were sold in the UK through 2005. Forecasts suggest that it might be as many as 3.5 million in 2006. At this rate, even Argos won’t be selling CRTs for long…
