Volunteers wanted for BBC HD Freeview trial

April 9th, 2006 · 2 Comments

The BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Five are looking for volunteers to participate in a trial of the first broadcasts on digital terrestrial television (aka Freeview). About 450 homes in London will be given a customised Freeview box to receive the trial HD broadcasts through their rooftop aerial.
Confirmed programming will include the World Cup from the BBC and ITV, and a range of other programming from all the broadcasters. Participants will need their own HD Ready screen, and live within the North and South Circular. The DTT HD trial will be a closed technical test available only to the triallists. If you use Freeview within the London area you’ll see the test channels listed in your onscreen menu, but will not be able to access them. To see if you qualify for the trial click here.
