Xbox 360 owners surfing into the Live online marketplace may be surprised to find a wide variety of high-def treats waiting for them. Paramount Pictures is the latest studio to provide HD movie trailers which can be downloaded to the console’s hard drive. The first available is Mission Impossible 3 in 720p (MI3 star is picture above with Katie Holmes and Chairman and CEO of Motorola Ed Zander, when they stopped by the Motorola Booth at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas). Coming shortly is the Jack Black wrestling comedy Nacho Libre. As part of the cross promotional deal, Microsoft will hawk Paramount DVDs at Xbox kiosks worldwide.
Also available are X-Men 3 and The Omen 666. Microsoft claims that around half of all owners join the Live service, swelling the number of subscribers to more than 2 million. Since its inception, more than 10 million items have been downloaded from the service.
