You’ve got to love this story from the Asahi Shimbun (click on the link above). The news that the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency is sending a team of robots to the moon conjures up wonderful images of Captain Qrio (pictured) and his band of faithful, but now sadly redundant Sony Aibos, setting off on a final, selfless mission for the greater good of mankind.
Apparently, the Japanese robot space squad will operate exploration vehicles and build an interstellar base. And, perhaps, in their spare time, play with bright pink balls on the lunar surface…
