Benjamin Feingold, the Sony Pictures Home Entertainment division president since 1994, and a vociferous supporter of , now takes Video On Demand and internet delivery under his wing. Key to Europe is the appointment of Matt Brown as EVP, in charge of European business. He reports to Adrian Alperovich. “With the digital market poised for growth, now is the time for us to organize ourselves to reap the full benefits of this new era, and to maintain and expand our leadership position in the home entertainment market, ” says Feingold. “We need to expand our digital business, because what’s going to happen over the next few years is going to be very significant. At the same time, we need to continue to build our Blu-ray Disc supply chain, and we need to control that very carefully.”
Rival studio Warner has already carried out a similar restructure, creating a new digital entertainment group which has swallowed Warner Home Video.
