Warner goes back to the Batcave for HD DVD

May 3rd, 2006 · No Comments

If the first wave of software has disappointed, its in the lack of unique extra features. All the titles to date, including the upcoming Rumor has it hybrid HD DVD/DVD, carry supplemental material that’s no different from what is already available on standard DVDs, thereby failing to exploit any of HD DVD’s advanced interactivity.
Warner now intends to raise the bar, by going back to the Batcave for a whole new set of extra features for its flagship Begins HD DVD due out at the end of the month. No news yet on what the Studio will come up with, let’s just hope it’s not some lame-ass Batman video game.
In related news, following the sell-out of the first wave of HD DVD players, Toshiba is on the verge of shipping an additional 5000 units to American retail outlets.
