One in five interested in HD DVD says survey

May 5th, 2006 · No Comments

A survey by US online DVD trading outfit Peerflix reveals that around one in five of its customers plans to buy into one of the two high definition disc formats before the end of the year.
The company quizzed 1,100 users who buy an average of five DVDs a month. Six percent of those surveyed said they were “very likely” and 13 percent were “somewhat likely” to buy an HD disc player in 2006.
Peerflix’s vice president of marketing Daniele Levy expressed surprised that the number wasn’t higher. “With all the talk and excitement around high-definition DVD it would seem they (our customers) are still a long way away from moving into either format.”
