2GB SD mini
Toshiba has announced a 2GB version of its miniSD memory card, to be launched worldwide mid June. The mini SD card format is designed for mobile devices, but can be used in standard SD card slots via an adaptor.
The growing need to maintain music and photographs in a portable enviroment is driving the demand. The 2GB card can store 35 hours of music at 128kbps and has a maximum writing speed of 5MB per second. Expect prices to remain high initially, as the company can currently produce only 15,000 units a month.
