May 27th, 2006 · 2 Comments

Warner Home Video is bringing Ridley Scott’s classic science fiction movie back to home video. Following a deal to secure long-term worldwide rights, the company plans to celebrate the film’s 25th anniversary with a variety of special editions, culminating in both and releases of Blade Runner: The final cut, said to be Scott’s definitive version of the film.
The celebrations begin in September, when Warner will issue a limited release of the 1992 director’s cut of the film on DVD. It will go off sale at the end of the year.
In 2007, the studio will then debut Blade Runner: The Final Cut. Prior to its home video release, the movie will have a limited theatrical run. To accompany the various upcoming disc releases, film historians are working on a wide range of new supplemental material.
