Acer unveils HD DVD laptop range

Acer has followed Toshiba with a range of equipped laptops. The trio took their public bow at the Taipei Computex expo. The Aspire 9110 (with a 15.4 inch screen), 9510 (17 inch) and 9800 (20.12 inch) all sport HDCP-enabled HDMI connections and awill be positioned as home entertainment PCs. Mobile PC chief Campbell Kan claimed all could rival dedicated HD DVD players in performance. No prices have been announced. The brand says it will also launch enabled laptops later in the year.
