Samsung is planning to introduce a range of 1080p TVs at this year’s IFA show in Berlin, which runs September 1-6. The cutting edge models will form part of the brand’s widest ever range, with displays from 15 inches to 57. All of this year’s large screen models will feature the company’s proprietary Super Pattern Vertical Alignment panel, which allows 178-degree off-angle viewing.
Samsung has also developed new technology to complement its super-large televisions (up to 73 inches). These new displays will feature FilterBright, an anti-reflective technology designed to improve contrast performance in brightly lit environments.
Interestingly, the company says it is putting as much into the design of its products as it is into the technology behind them. Apparently the hot trend this year will be high gloss black and white models, with rounded edges.
