Flatscreen TVs turn up the volume

Dixons Stores Group expects its full year underlying profit before tax to be ahead of expectations at between 312-318 million pounds, fuelled by flatscreen TV and gadget sales.
Across the Atlantic, screens have helped leading tech retail chain Best Buy post a first-quarter income of 234 million dollars, up from 170 million dollars the same time last year.
Market analyst DisplaySearch says that 28.9 million LCD monitors were shipped worldwide during the first quarter of 2006. The biggest market for these is Japan, but Europe isn’t far behind.
