Panasonic announces 1080p digital cinema DLP projector

June 28th, 2006 · No Comments

Panasonic has developed a three chip high resolution 1080p projector for the professional digital cinema market. The specification includes a brightness of 10,000 lumens of brightness and 4000:1 contrast ratio, courtesy of a Dynamic Iris, which alters the aperture according to the input signal.
Liquid-cooled optics are sealed in a dust-proof chassis and the projector comes with a two lamp system, dubbed BriteOptic multilamp, which ensures that if one lamp fails the second kicks in immediately.
Connectivity includes DVI and LAN, allowing the projector to be controlled and setup over a network, by PC. To date Panasonic’s professional division has sold more than 1,200 digital cinema projectors into commercial theatres worldwide.
