Yamaha is to introduce its first network AV receiver. The 600 pound RX-N600D (pictured above) sports an Ethernet port on the back panel which allows it to be networked on a home LAN.
The uPnP compliant receiver can connect with PCs running Windows Media Connect, to stream music tracks and access internet radio. The model also has a DAB module and can act as a client for the brand’s high-end wireless audio system, MusicCAST.
Yamaha is also launching an dock. The YDS-10 (pictured below) plugs into the back of a selection of Yamaha’s upcoming new AV receivers, including the N600D, via a single-lead connection. This allows everything on the iPod to be accessed via the receiver’s remote control, as well as charging the player.
