New Pioneer AV receivers embrace HDMI and iPod connectivity

July 13th, 2006 · No Comments

Pioneer’s 2007 AV receiver line-up will comprise updates on old favourites, but little that’s revolutionary. Revised for this year are the VSX-AX4ASi-S (now offering four HDMI inputs, Faroudja DCDI and compatibility) and the VSX-AX2AS-S (with three HDMI inputs, Faroudja DCDi upscaling via HDMI and iPod connectivity); the THX Select VSX-2016 with two-input HDMI switching and iPod connectivity; the THX Select VSX-1016 which is an upgrade on the 1015, and the entry level VSX-916 and VSX-516 models.
The company is working on a new high-end flagship for release in 2007, but no details are available beyond its codename of Susano.
