Yahoo champions DRM-free MP3 downloads

And Now… DRM-free MP3s from Yahoo
The news that online portal Yahoo has dropped DRM (digital rights management) from some of its MP3 downloads surprised many, but as a strike against its rival iTunes, the compnay scored a bullseye.
According to reports (click link above) the internet portal believes the move will bring music fans flocking to its online music store. The company argues that as music labels already sell DRM-free CDs, to develop expensive DRM technology for its online music would be a waste of time and resources. A giant in the online download industry talking sense? Now that’s a story we didn’t see coming…
