AOL to launch huge internet TV download service

In the US, AOL has launched the public beta test of its new video portal with no fewer than 45 video-on-demand channels. Content is being sourced from a wide variety of mainstream programme makers, including MTV, Time Warner and others. Users can download episodes of Babylon 5, The Flintstones, Falcon Crest, The Adventures of Brisco County Jr and others for 1.99 dollars each. The official launch happens at the end of August.
