US ponders new legislation to control adult video games

Congress seeks truth in video game ratings

According to this article from ars technica (click link above) a group of US congressmen are advocating a law which would give the US Federal Trade Commission far-reaching powers to regulate video game ratings. Quite apart from making the current voluntary ESRB rating mandatory, it would require legislators look at every frame of a video game before granting a rating, to ensure that minors are not exposed to dangerous material.
