CES organizer makes a play for new video games trade show

August 19th, 2006 · No Comments

With the video game expo E3 being downsized for 2007, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), which runs the International CES, has seen an opportunity to extend its influence. It has formed an advisory group to solicit industry interest in a new video games show, possibly taking place in Las Vegas next spring.
According to CES feedback, more than 11 percent of those who attend the annual CES are already interested in aspects of the game industry. Karen Chupka, the CEA’s senior VP of events and conferences, says the organization already has solid interest from a trio of companies interested in forming a new event.
