Paramount pulls out all the stops for MI 3 on HD

August 19th, 2006 · No Comments

Warner may be holding back it’s biggest titles from HD disc release, at least until the problem of squeezing supplemental material onto the space starved discs is solved, but that hasn’t prevented Paramount from committing to a tri-format (DVD, HD DVD, BD) disc release on October 30 for Mission Impossible 3. Both HD DVD and Blu-ray versions will be presented in 1080p with a Dolby Digital Plus sound mix.
Says Meagan Burrows, Paramount Pictures president of home entertainment: “Mission Impossible 3 is setting a new standard for the home entertainment experience. We’re giving consumers all the options including the HD releases with a pristine presentation of the film as well as high-definition bonus features created exclusively for the movie.”
These extras are expected to include five deleted scenes, four documentaries and theatrical trailers
The HD DVD release also features an enhanced commentary with star Tom Cruise and director JJ Abrams talking about the movie in a picture-in-picture  window.
