Samsung to sell 70inch LCD TV

August 29th, 2006 · No Comments

Samsung plans to commercialize its giant 70-inch from next year. The screen, to be previewed at this week’s IFA technology show, will be swiftly followed by 82-inch versions. The jump up in size has been made possible by new fabrication plants able to create ever-larger glass substrates.
Panasonic currently claims the biggest commercial screen size, with its 103-inch (pictured below). The model goes on sale in the US shortly, priced just over 50,000 dollars. The latest market research suggests that by 2010, at least half of all TVs sold in the US will be bigger than 37-inches.
