September 1st, 2006 · No Comments

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Warner Home Video are to join the European launch party with ten titles apiece in October; titles will include Underworld Evolution, Hitch, RV, Hostel and Tears of the Sun. Warner will contribute Firewall, Syriana, Full Metal Jacket, Training Day and Space Cowboys.
Warner home entertainment president Ron Sanders said at IFA, “With more European consumers purchasing HD TVs, the demand for content is growing. Blu-ray Disc titles now provide movie fans with stunning high-definition quality and the convenience offered by packaged media.”

In related news, Warner US announced ten new high definition disc releases for September 26.
Its Blu-ray titles comprise Tim Burton’s The Corpse Bride, Swordfish, Space Cowboys, Lethal Weapon 2, The Fugitive and House of Wax. HD DVD releases consist of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, The Dirty Dozen, Grand Prix and The Adventures of Robin Hood (which includes three Looney Tunes shorts),
Most extras are the same as their DVD release, although T3 will feature director Jonathan Mostow providing a next-generation insight into the movie.
