Sony to work with film-makers to improve Blu-ray quality

Sony Pictures worldwide president Ben Feingold says the studio will be working closely with film-makers to improve the quality of its movies on .
Responding to criticisms of recent releases, he admitted that Blu-ray movies have been mastered on display monitors that could differ significantly from consumer screens. “We’re going to be doing some work in the fall with filmmakers and post-production, looking at how authoring works (in relation to) what consumer monitors are like today.”
He adds that the studio has allowed filmmakers to make their own creative decisions that might not play well with home viewers. Confirming that some colors might look oversaturated, he concedes “in the end, it’s their creative work.”
