Panasonic launches world’s first triple-drive digital receiver

September 7th, 2006 · No Comments

Panasonic is launching an advanced digital receiver to partner its upcoming DMP-BD10 deck. The SA-XR700 (pictured above) is the first from the brand to feature a so-called triple amp drive, and allows up to three of the receiver’s digital amp modules to drive each of two front speaker channels. Exclusive to Panasonic, this system makes optimal use of the receiver’s multiple amps to provide a superior sound from a two-channel audio source.
The SA-XR700 can also deliver 5.1 soundtracks in a Dual Amp drive mode. Panasonic says this technology allows greater power for lower heat generation. The SA-XR700 also offers dual-HDMI connectivity with HDAVI system control and Auto Speaker Setup, courtesy of a supplied mic.
