Sony guarantees Xmas success for Xbox 360 and Wii

Microsoft blames PS3 delay on “unproven technology” // GamesIndustry.biz

Unsurprisingly, Microsoft has been quick to jump onto Sony’s delay. Xbox boss Neil Thompson, talking to GamesIndustry.biz (click link above) , says that Sony has “backed away” from its commitment to a global launch for the next gen console.
He also pointedly stressed that Europe remains a priority for Microsoft: “We’re going to have a great Christmas!” Over 160 Xbox 360 games will be available over the key Christmas buying period.

The company says it will have sold 10 million consoles by the end of the year. The delay is also a boon for Nintendo, which now has a great chance of making its low-cost the number one console over the period – provided it can keep up with demand.
