Freeview now viewed in over 30 percent of UK households

According to the latest GFK data, Freeview is now claiming to be the primary source of television in 7.8 million homes, which translates to 31 percent of all UK households. The service saw sales of digital boxes and televisions exceed the 1.1.million mark in Q2, says Cary Wakefield, Freeview General Manager, adding
“Freeview is now the number one choice for households switching to digital and we’re delighted to confirm our continuing success. With Film4 recently launched and Five US and Five Life to be added shortly, all for no subscription, we only expect Freeview’s popularity to continue to grow.”
