Apple has finally confirmed its intention to carve a slice of the CE convergence market by previewing a Mac-to-TV set-top box/media extender, rather amusingly codenamed iTV.
The device, which is smaller than a Mac Mini, and features USB, Ethernet, wi-fi and AV connectivity, including HDMI and component, will be launched in the US, early 2007.
CEO Steve Jobs has also confirmed Disney’s support for iTunes movie downloads, with the Mouse contributing over 70 titles to the online store. Video resolution of downloads will apparently be increased to 640×480.
