September 13th, 2006 · No Comments

LG’s new Polish factory, based near the city of Wroclow, will begin panel production later this month, considerably ahead of schedule. Originally glass wasn’t expected to come out of the facility till 2007. This will be LG’s second Polish LCD plant. The first is located in Mlawa, north of Warsaw.
As a result, South Korea’s second largest consumer electronics brand says its output from the two facilities will be in excess of 6 million TVs this year, and that it is prepared to invest 130 million dollars over the next three years to increase production further.
The Corporation has also opened a complex of CE factories in Ruza, near Moscow. LG Group Chairman Koo Bon-moo declared at their opening: “I want to see LG become Russia’s top brand.” The company already has a market leading position in certain key home appliance categories.
