LCD monitor specialist ViewSonic has revealed the world’s first “Made for iPod” display at the 2006 Apple Expo. Its new range of widescreen ViewDock displays integrate an iPod docking station into the screen itself (pictured).
Additional features include several USB 2.0 ports and an 8-in-1 card reader, along with a microphone, stereo speakers and a subwoofer.
“ViewSonic’s commitment to take desktop viewing to the next level is evident in our being the world’s first manufacturer to truly expand the connectivity possibilities of LCD displays,” said Mel Taylor, vice president of marketing, ViewSonic Europe. “These products will fill a gap in the iPod accessories market, delivering users around the globe the quality and excellence of the ViewSonic heritage.”
ViewSonic ViewDock screens are expected to go on sale later this year. Pricing is not yet decided.
