Disney’s iTunes gamble a million dollar success

September 21st, 2006 · No Comments

Disney says it has already generated a million dollars of “incremental revenue” since putting its key movie titles onto iTunes. CEO Bob Iger declares, “This is just the beginning. We feel we could generate about 50 million in incremental revenue in the first year at no marketing expense to us.”
His bullish message will doubtless spike the interest of other Hollywood studios which have so far resisted the siren call of the iTunes delivery service. Expect some big names to jump in sooner rather than later as a result.
