DivX is going after YouTube. The codec king is upping the ante with an online community of its own for people who love to watch and download user-generated content.
Its new video Stage6 site allows users watch and share DivX videos as well as interact with the people who made them. Significantly, the video content of Stage6 can be downloaded and burnt to DVD, for playback in DivX compatible DVD players.
Content currently seems to consist primarily of music and anime, and video quality is consistently good.
