Sharp has announced the world’s largest commercial LCD monitor. Its PN-655E (pictured below) is a 65-inch model offering Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, and is intended for commercial applications such as digital signage and AV hire. It comes with a non-reflective coating and a panel life said to be three times that of a comparable plasma monitor. The screen uses a four-wave backlight system to provide accurate colour fidelity and boasts a response time of 6 milliseconds. The unit can be used solo or as part of a larger video wall.
The new screen is being produced at Sharp’s state-of-the-art Kameyama factory in Japan.
