World trade center joins 50GB Blu-ray rush

October 11th, 2006 · No Comments

Warner Home Video has announced two new 50GB discs for the US market. Classic westerns Unforgiven and The Searchers will debut on October 31. Paramount has also confirmed that Oliver Stone’s World Trade Center will be a 50GB release.
Early Blu-ray discs are single layer 25GB releases, which has left little or no room for extra material or interactivity.
Also announced from Warner are The Phantom of the Opera (25GB BD), Excalibur and V for Vendetta on (the latter with extras that include PIP feature entitled Director’s Notebook: Reimagining a Cult Classic for the 21st Century, which can be viewed alongside the feature film). The Steven Segal action flick Under Siege will be released both formats.
