Panasonic to make plasma TVs in Russia

October 12th, 2006 · No Comments

Matsushita, parent of Panasonic, has confirmed that it is to build a factory in Russia. The new plant, the first to be built by a Japanese company in the country, is due to open in 2009 and will produce screens for the local market and its neighbouring territories.
The move is part of its ongoing strategy to place plasma screen production facilities in emerging economies. Currently, Panasonic is the best selling large screen brand in Russia.
