Planar launches UK projector range

Speciality US display company Planer is to launch its first range of home cinema projectors in the UK. CSE will distribute six models, from entry-level to flagship.
Top of the Planar range is the PD8110, a 1920 x 1080 resolution model that uses the .95 DC3 DLP chipset.
It will be joined by no fewer than four 720p models: the PD7150 with .8 DC3 chip, the PD7130 (.65 DC3 chip, pictured above), the PD7060 (65 DC3 chip) and PD7010 (.65 DC2, pictured below). Opening the range is the 480p PD4010.
“These new products offer performance that is consistent with the superlative standards set by Planar for 23 years,” proclaims Scott Hix, vice president and general manager of Planar’s home theatre business unit.
“Planar’s dedicated team of seasoned home theatre and display veterans is focused on developing close relationships with distributors and dealers who have the expertise to deliver these solutions to the speciality home theatre channel. With our comprehensive projector line as well as our Xscreen and 1080p flat-panel LCDs, we plan to surpass the expectations of both the channel and its customers.”
