Asahi Glass Fine Techno Taiwan, a subsidiary of Asahi Glass, has confirmed that it has closed one of its furnaces for repair work, after ‘bubble problems’ lowered its yield rates. It is expected that the facility, responsible for the manufacturing of 5G glass substrates for LCD TVs, will be offline for three months. Flatscreen TV makers are expected to find alternate suppliers, and screen shortages are not anticipated.
