Motorised TV stands offer ambient backlighting

October 30th, 2006 · No Comments

French AV furniture maker Erard has introduced a new range of five motorised TV stands with ambient backlighting designed for and displays.
The top of the range Pratik II Twist and Light (pictured below) can be remotely adjusted left or right by up to 25 degrees, as well as raised and lowered, in order to achieve the best viewing angle. Individual end stops for the left and right rotation of the screen can be programmed, together with a preferred position, which is selectable from a single key on the remote control
At its rear is a programmable ambient lighting panel with two banks of multicoloured LEDs. Quite apart form looking cool, this backlighting can improve contrast and help to reduce eye strain.
The rear column also features a cable management system, to keep interconnects and power-leads out of sight.
“The new Pratik range has a high level of sophistication and adds to the viewing ambience,” promises Neil Kumar, marketing manager of UK distributors Hypex Electroniques.. “The range is based on the results of Erard’s ergonomic research into how people watch today’s flat panel TVs.”
