UK X-Men Blu-ray debut delayed

November 9th, 2006 · No Comments

X-Men The Last Stand
will not become available on Blu-ray in the UK until at least March. The title, described by Fox SVP of marketing communications Steve Feldstein as “the biggest new release yet for Blu-ray”, ships in the US on November 14. But Fox UK says that no new titles will ship after its already announced pre-Xmas first wave, which includes Fantastic Four, Kiss of the Dragon, The Omen and The Transporter.
Fox, like other European studios, does not anticipate demand for Blu-ray ramping up until the PlayStation 3 enters the market March 2007.
The X-title has been authored by Panasonic using H.264 AVC compression and features a 6.1 DTS ES HD Lossless Master Audio soundtrack. Extras include two commentary tracks (one from director Brett Ratner and the movie’s scriptwriters, and the other from its producers), along with 12 extended scenes and a Marvel Trivia Track pop-up.
