Compatibility problems affect PS3 debut

November 16th, 2006 · No Comments

The ‘s compatibility with PS2 games has been called into doubt, following its Japanese launch. Picture freezes, audio dropouts and loss of control are said to affect upwards of 200 older games, including hits like Gran Turismo and Final Fantasy.
Sony hopes to fix the problem with a downloadable patch from its PlayStation Network and playstation.com sites. While the brand doesn’t claim that the bug-fix will make the system completely backwards compatible, it says it will offer regular downloads as other compatibility problems become apparent.
