Epson introduces its first 1080p LCD projector

December 3rd, 2006 · No Comments

Epson is to ship its first 1080p LCD projector into Europe and North America. The EMP-TW1000, which is currently only available in Japan, utilises a trio of 1920 x 1080 LCD chips, so-called ‘1080Perfect’ video processing and Absolute Black technology, able to offer a contrast ratio of 12,000:1. The unit also has an ISF calibration mode, along with a new high-efficiency lamp, dubbed E-TORL. The model, designed and built exclusively by the brand, is being touted as “a new standard for 1080p projection.”
In use, its performance can be considered comparable to the new 1080p PT-AE1000E LCD projector from Panasonic.
