To combat growing retail indifference in States for both Blu-ray and HD DVD, key format backers have stepped up their promotional activities.
Blu-ray Disc backers Panasonic, Philips, Pioneer, Sony along with studio support from Warner and Fox, have begun a TV ad campaign which airs on popular HD TV channels Discovery HD, INHD and HDNet.
It’s being backed by by a generic print and web campaign. The promotional push has been described as “unprecedented” by Fox EVP of marketing Peter Staddon,
HD DVD continues to counter with its oddly titled ‘The Look and Sound of Perfect,’ mobile roadshow – an 18-wheeler tour bus offering a mini viewing space and Xbox games machines to curious visitors.
