Sport, not movies, is the biggest driver of HD TV sales in the US, according to new data from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). It says that 60 percent of HDTV owners consider themselves sports fans and half of those surveyed say that it was sport which inspired them to make their flastcreen purchase.
According to research company Pacific Media Associates, more than 3.2 million flat-panel HDTVs will be sold in the US during the last three months of 2006, double that of 2005.
