February 11th, 2007 · No Comments

JVC will introduce the first consumer camcorder able to shoot in 1080i resolution. Its Everio GZ-HD7 (pictured) has a 60GB hard drive able to store five hours of HD. Users also have an option to record seven hours at a resolution of 1440×1080. The company will also release the CU-VD40 high definition DVD burner, able to record HD video onto 12-cm DVDs, and play back directly into a display via its integrated HDMI connection. 40 minutes of HD can be archived onto an 8.5 GB two-layer DVD-R disc.
The CU-DV40 (pictured below) can also be used as an external drive for a PC. At present, the GZ-HD7 is only available in the Japanese market.
