Sony introduces multi-room AV range

February 12th, 2007 · No Comments

Sony may not be known for multi-room AV hardware, but the company made a convincing stab at attracting the attention of the US custom install trade with a new range of whole home electronics unveiled at the recent International Builders Show.
The Sony CI systems include 7.1 surround sound amplification, music storage and management servers, and a 400-disc DVD changer.
Able to deliver sound and vision to 13 rooms is Sony’s NHS-3030 rack, which incorporates an ES receiver and six sources; the NHS-2030 (pictured below) and NHS-1030 supply six rooms. An entry level three-room option, the NHS-330, will also be made available.
To complement the electronics, Sony is selling a range of in-wall/in-ceiling speakers, under the brand name Sposato. System prices range from 10,000 to 50,000 dollars.
