DLP projectors to target video gamers

February 14th, 2007 · No Comments

Will the projection market strike it rich on the back of the HD video gamers´┐Ż Texas Instruments certainly hopes so, as this prototype video projector indicates. Small and funky, the DLP inventor admits that these new style projectors may not offer cutting edge HD performance, but they could bring big-screen thrills to millions of joystick jockeys at very affordable prices. The unusual designs, including a flower and ball-styled model (pictured) are the winning entries in a competition sponsored by TI. The units are powered by a 50W Ujoy lamp from Philips, with build work by Sypro Optics.
