BBC deal with YouTube excludes license payers

March 5th, 2007 · No Comments

The BBC’s deal with will lead to two BBC branded channels which will feature news, and entertainment-based promotional clips from the Corporation. Programmes lined up for inclusion include Life On Mars and Top Gear, but news clips will only be available to viewers outside of the UK. While license payers may well feel cheated, the deal helps the BBC raise awareness of its programming and allows YouTube to further encroach on traditional broadcast media.
